Okay so we haven't watched it in about 10 years, but it's still sad to see a British institution get cancelled.
Yes that's right, after a run of 42 years the BBC has announced they are shutting down the poptastic music show Top Of The Pops. However they have decided to keep TOTP2, the Steve Wright wonderzone full of vintage sounds from the past shows. Bit ironic really.
So lets take a quick look back at the best moments from the last 42 years of the show...
200x - Top of the Pops hires Fearne Cotton
We're wishing we hadn't started this now. Fearne Cotton isn't that great and could be the reason for the shows demise. In reality we won't miss it at all, and if they ever want to bring anything back that got cancelled they should consider Knightmare or GamesMaster. FACT.
There's nothing interesting to say now, go and have a look at Wikipedia for a trip down memory lane - especially the send-ups bit. I hope they do a special before it ends talking about how many people got pissed off that they had to mime.
