Guard? I think there's a Splinter in my Cell

So, Ubisoft have blown their cover on the whole Sam Fisher 'WANTED' lark, by announcing that, for the start of the game at least, he shall be spending some time behind bars as an undercover operative, with his cover story being the killing of his daughter.

Apparently you'll be making decisions that will affect the course of the game, much like the predicament faced by our boy Jack Bauer in the third series of 24, all that business with the Russian roulette, you remember.

I'd quite like some prison life to be explored, maybe trying to steer clear of your daddy, maybe sneaking into other inmates cells to acquire some fags for bartering with later. I'm not crass enough to mention the showers, you can use your own filthy minds for that.

It would appear Ubisoft are attempting to take the series further, adding some important character and real background to their sneaky stealth action series. While the games have been fairly fulfilling and exciting, waiting about behind a crate for two hours while I figure out some inept guards movements isn't as rewarding as waiting about behind a similar crate during a Metal Gear game.

With Kojima's series, you can be fairly certain some plot twist or another is waiting at the end of the corridor, that Revolver Oceot is probably going to turn up, spin some guns, and spin a web of lies at you. Failing all that, there'll probably be a massive boss battle, maybe against a huge chieftain in a tank, or a 100yr old sniper, if you're lucky, it'll be against a bipedal nuclear warhead, now wouldn't that be something Mr Fisher eh?
