Time Travel, apparently quite easy.

You know that Guardian supplement we mentioned earlier, well it was found under a pile of things and we thought we'd give it another read, make sure the quotes we used were accurate, and that we hadn't completely gotten the wrong end of anyone's stick.

But it was the other article that caught our attention this time out, Aleks Krotoski's Gamesblog, an piece of writing that would appear to have been lifted straight from 1995. She seems concerned that people regard her with shock and confusion when they discover she's a girl. Pardon us for being utterly brash and rude, but who gives a toss anymore, videogames have moved on since the days of Lara Croft, it's not really the lad culture it was ten years ago, and we've accepted that there are plenty of girls who DO play games, in the same way there are plenty of boys who DON'T.

We here at GameOverYeah have been round the block a few times, and on those walks we've come across girls who play plenty of games, normal girls who like things like Animal Crossing, Tetris and Zoocube, gothy girls who like Final Fantasy and Warcraft, and young girls who like The Sims. So, as with every statistic, we hugely doubt that any of the facts and figures that show that only 3 women have ever heard of a playstation, are actually representative of anything. We know this because we've never been asked whether we're boys or girls, by anyone.

In summary then, some girls play games, some boys play games, we're quite happy with this. Lets move on to more important topics of discussion, 'games as art' anyone?
